VOORHEESVILLE — Constance Kessler Burns passed away peacefully on March 5, 2024, after a courageous four year battle with cancer at the age of 81. Born in Gloversville, she was the daughter of the late William and Antonet Kessler.

She was a graduate of Gloversville High School, attended SUNY Potsdam and the Famous Artists School in Connecticut. She was a talented artist and worked for the Post Standard and Times Union before starting her own business out of her home while her kids were young called “Connie’s Corner”. She became well known locally for her pen and ink drawings.

Connie spent most of her life in Voorheesville with her late husband Michael L Burns, who was the love of her life. However, it was her grandchildren that brought her the most joy. She adored them and they adored her. To them, she was known as Ninny (a name she cherished). Ninny was very active in their lives attending sporting events, playing games, having sleepovers, and just being a listening ear.

She is survived by her children, Deborah (Christopher) Corbari and their children Megan and Molly Corbari, Michael (Darcy) Burns and their children Lily and Emmie Burns, and Thomas Burns with his children Thomas, Joseph and Kathrine Burns. She is also survived by her beloved sister, Terry (Patrick) Romano. She is further survived by Jack (Sheri) Rosenhan, their children and numerous extended family members.

Anyone who knows Connie knows that she was the sweetest, kindest person who would do anything for anyone. She had a great sense of humor and absolutely loved Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp). We were all lucky to have her. There were a lot of laughs and love growing up in our house on Hemlock Court.

We would like to thank the nursing staff on 6th floor Mcauley at St Peters Hospital for the tremendous care and compassion they gave Connie and our family during this difficult time.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Connie’s family Friday, March 8, 2024, 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Mcveigh Funeral Home, 208 North Allen Street, Albany, N.Y. 12206. Please enter the funeral home from the rear parking lot only.
