• New York Racing Association President and CEO David O’rourke will discuss the 2024 Belmont Stakes Racing Festival and other topics from 7:45 to 9 a.m. Wednesday at the Universal Preservation Hall, 25 Washington St., Saratoga Springs. • Guilderland Chamber of Commerce announced its Four Seasons of Guilderland tourism initiative on Thursday at the State of the Town address at The Funny Bone. Four events take place: Bikes, Burgers and Beverage on July 18 during Guilderland Restaurant Week; Brewery & Winery Tour in the fall; a soup, chowder, chili cookoff in winter and a spring event. Passports will be handed out at the Four Seasons of Guilderland kickoff, 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 22, at Jacob & Anthony’s, Stuyvesant Plaza.
• Nearly 200 athletes will compete Saturday and Sunday in the 2024 USA Powerlifting New York State Championships at the Albany Capital Center. Saturday’s opening session begins at 8 a.m. with primetime lifting getting under way at 2:30 p.m.
• Hudson Highlands Fjord Trail Inc. meets on “Visitor Projection & Visitation Management Strategy,” Wednesday, April 3, at Dutchess Manor. The group is planning for a Fjord Trail, slated for completion in 2031, a 7.5-mile linear park along the river that solves safety concerns, provides welcoming access to people of all abilities, restores and protects natural resources and enhances quality of life for local communities. • The 34th annual Regeneron Greater Capital Region Science and Engineering Fair takes place Saturday at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, a venue for students to showcase and be recognized for their science, technology, engineering and math research with the goal of encouraging them to pursue careers in STEM. Almost 100 middle and high school students across 17 Capital Region school districts will present their original STEM research to 60 volunteer science and engineer judges.
