• Startup Tech Valley is returning to spotlight Capital Region tech entreprene­urs after a fouryear hiatus due to the pandemic beginning at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at Brown’s Revolution Hall, 425 River St., Troy. Entreprene­urs, investors, mentors, students and startup employees will network and make pitches. Startup Tech Valley is supported through a collaborat­ion between the Center for Economic Growth, Innovate 518 and Rensselaer Polytechni­c Institute. Four startups will make pitches.

• Urban Air Adventure Park‘s official grand opening begins at 10 a.m. Saturday at its Crossgates Commons Plaza location, between Walmart and Petsmart, at 161 Washington Ave. Ext.

• The state Public Service Commission plans a virtual public statement hearing at 6 p.m. Wednesday concerning LED streetligh­t fixtures in the village of Cambridge. The hearing follows a petition expressing concerns about the effects of the lighting to a village resident with epilepsy. Register by 4:30 p.m. Tuesday via www.webex.com.

• A meeting of the board of the Capital District Regional Planning Commission is 10 a.m. Wednesday at 1 Park Place, Suite 102, Albany. An alternate location will be held at Saratoga County Office Building, Planning Board Conference Room; 40 Mcmaster St., Ballston Spa. A live video of the meeting will be available via Youtube Live on CDRPC’S Youtube Channel.

• Fred Astaire Dance Studios in Albany marked its silver anniversar­y Friday with co-owners Boris and Sasha Spitchka surrounded by instructor­s, students and elected officials and the Capital Region Chamber at their studio. They host a public celebratio­n for students, instructor­s and dance lovers at 11 a.m. Saturday.

• In honor of Earth Day, Undergroun­d Railroad Education Center will gather at 2 p.m. Monday, April 22, at 186 Livingston Ave. with representa­tives of the New York State Energy Research and Developmen­t Authority, local political figures and the community to host a ceremonial groundbrea­king for the 14,000-square-foot, netzero energy Interpreti­ve Center to be built on the site.

• Ulster County this week announced that the Office for the Aging received a $25,000 grant from the Bank of Greene County to help pay for a variety of crucial repairs to the homes of older adults, fostering environmen­ts where they can maintain their independen­ce and safety.
