Heaslip, Richard J.

NORTH GREENBUSH — Richard “Dick” Heaslip, 91 years of age, beloved husband, father, stepfather, grand and great-grandfather, passed away on May 16, 2024, with adoring family at his side. Richard was born in Tralee, Ireland, the son of the late William and Kathleen (Cournane) Heaslip.

Richard retired from Ireland’s Training and Employment Authority known as Foras Aiseanna Saothair (FAS) as a Senior Engineer Instructor. He came to the United States, in 2012 and married Bridget “Billie” Labrie, in 2013. Their marriage brought two families together that have since formed lifelong relationships. He was a member of the German Club for several years, where he and Billie enjoyed dinner and dancing. Together they never missed an opportunity to dance, whether it was at the Colonie Elks, the German Club or the Cotillion. They were also regulars at the Rensselaer Senior Center, whenever there was a party to attend.

Richard is survived by his loving wife, Bridget “Billie” Labrie. He was the proud father of William (Rose) Heaslip, Catherine Revington, John (Breda) Heaslip, Noreen (John) Murphy, Richard (Cathy) Heaslip; beloved brothers, sisters, and many grand and great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; all residing in Ireland. He was also survived by stepchildren living in the US, Gordon (Laura) Labrie, Michelle (John) Robilotti, Teresa (David) Kunzinger Labrie, Danielle Belser; and several grand and great-grandchildren.

Richard was a kind gentle man that will be deeply missed andforever loved.

Relatives and friends may visit at the Mcveigh Funeral Home, 208 North Allen St., Albany, N.Y. 12206, Wednesday, May 22, 2024, 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Please use the rear parking lot entrance only. His Funeral Mass will follow, at 10:30 a.m., at Blessed Sacrament Church, 607 Central Ave. (Rev. John Bradley Way), Albany, N.Y. 12206.
