In the hor­ror film The Killing of a Sa­cred Deer, in the­aters now, Colin Far­rell plays a sur­geon forced to do some­thing un­think­able when the be­hav­ior of a teenage boy he has taken un­der his wing turns sin­is­ter. “I re­mem­ber be­ing in a lit­tle bit of a funk by the end of the film be­cause ev­ery day got darker,” says the ac­tor, 41, who also has starred in other un­set­tling films, in­clud­ing The Beguiled, So­lace and The Lob­ster. “You get that it is only a job, but if you in­habit that space for 10 or 12 hours a day, it goes in.”
