BETTY WHITE 101
Did you have a sweet 16 party when you were young? No. I wasn’t sweet 16. I was just 16.
Is there a dream role you’d love to play? Mrs. Robert Redford.
Who is your favorite character you’ve ever played? Anna in The King and I, which I did several different times onstage. Was there ever a time when the business got so tough that you thought about giving up? Never. I can honestly say that. Because you don’t win ’em all, but you do the best you can and you always look for the next job, so that you’re never out of business.
When were you the happiest? When Allen Ludden was here.
Can you tell us three things about Betty White that people
don’t know? I don’t think I can. I’ve been around so long, and the audience has been so wonderful. I think they know me probably as well as anybody in the world.
Have you visited everywhere in the
world you’d like to go? Yes. I’m not a big traveler. I like to go to the mountains, to get away from cities. I think I’ve been just about every place. Do you have any hidden talents people don’t know about? I’m not going there!
