You can see a seismosaurus, one of the largest dinosaurs ever found, at the New Mexico Museum of Natural History, 1801 Mountain Road NW.

Topographical maps are available from the USGS (usgs.gov) or at area retailers like REI. Those, plus Google Maps and Google Earth, are useful for exploring places to wander.
