Road Work Starts On U.S. 84/285

The state Department of Transportation has begun work on U.S. 84/285 just north of Pojoaque.

The project includes new bridge construction with new on and off ramps, new roadway lighting and signage, and pavement reconstruction for 0.72 mile within Santa Fe County.

Two lanes of traffic in each direction will be maintained during the construction. The posted speed limit through the work zone is 45 mph and motorists’ speed is being monitored by the New Mexico State Police.

The project is scheduled to finish in the fall of 2013 at a cost of $7.5 million. The contractor is AUI Inc. of Albuquerque.
