Men

No. 4 MICHIGAN 58, No. 9 MICH. STATE 57: In Ann Arbor, Mich., Trey Burke stole the ball from Keith Appling near midcourt and went in alone for a dunk with 22 seconds remaining, then made another steal in the final seconds to lead the Wolverines (24-5, 11-5 Big Ten) over the Spartans (22-7, 11-5 Big Ten).

The Spartans had the ball with the shot clock off at 56-56, but Burke’s first big defensive play enabled Michigan to take the lead. After Derrick Nix made one of two free throws and Mitch McGary missed the front end of a 1-and-1 for Michigan, Burke stole a pass by Gary Harris to end it.

The Michigan State loss clinched at least a share of the Big Ten title for Indiana.

PURDUE 69, No. 17 WISCONSIN 56: In Madison, Wis., D.J. Byrd scored 16 of his 22 points in the second half and the Boilermake­rs (14-15, 7-9 Big Ten) upset the Badgers (20-9, 11-5), who had won six of their previous seven.

No. 23 PITTSBURGH 73, VILLANOVA 64 (OT): In Pittsburgh, Talib Zanna scored nine of his 14 points in overtime and the Panthers (23-7, 11-6 Big East) rallied. Pittsburgh trailed by as many as nine in the second half.

Women

No. 5 DUKE 65, No. 15 N. CAROLINA 58: In Durham, N.C., freshman Alexis Jones scored 22 points as the Blue Devils (272, 17-1 ACC) earned their league-record 17th regular-season ACC victory. The Tar Heels (26-5, 14-4) missed 19 consecutiv­e shots during a span of roughly 10 minutes in the second half.

No. 7 PENN STATE 82, No.20 NEBRASKA 67: In Lincoln, Neb., Maggie Lucas scored 34 points as the Lady Lions (24-4, 14-2) clinched their second straight outright Big Ten championsh­ip. The Huskers (227, 12-4) had their 10-game winning streak end.

No. 10 KENTUCKY 78, No. 8 TENNESSEE 65: In Lexington, Ky., A’dia Mathies scored 13 second-half points to help the Wildcats (25-4, 13-3) pull away from the Lady Vols (23-6, 14-2).

No. 9 MARYLAND 88, WAKE FOREST 61: In College Park, Md., Tianna Hawkins scored 18 points for the Terrapins (23-6, 14-4 ACC).

No. 11 GEORGIA 55, VANDERBILT 50: In Athens, Ga., Jasmine Hassell scored 16 points for the Bulldogs (24-5, 12-4 SEC).

No. 12 DAYTON 73, SAINT JOSEPH’S 66: In Dayton, Ohio, Andrea Hoover scored 19 points as the Flyers (26-1, 14-0) wrapped up their first Atlantic 10 Conference regular-season title.

LSU 67, No. 13 TEXAS A&M 52: In College Station, Texas, Theresa Plaisance scored 16 points and Danielle Ballard had 15 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Tigers (19-10, 10-6 SEC) over the Aggies (21-9, 11-5).

No. 14 SOUTH CAROLINA 67, FLORIDA 56: In Columbia, S.C., Ashley Bruner scored 16 points and Aleighsa Welch and Ieasia Walker added 14 apiece for the Gamecocks (23-6, 11-5).

No. 17 UCLA 68, ARIZONA 57: In Tucson, Alyssia Brewer scored 22 points on 11-for14 shooting for the Bruins (23-6, 14-4), who have won four in a row.

No. 18 DELAWARE 62, DREXEL 57: In Newark, Del., Elena Delle Donne posted a double-double and Lauren Carra scored 21 points to help the Blue Hens (26-3, 17-0 Colonial) tie a school record with 21 straight wins.

No. 19 COLORADO 66, OREGON STATE 63 (OT): In Corvallis, Ore., Chucky Jeffery scored 25 points and the Buffaloes (24-5, 13-5 Pac-12) rallied for their ninth win in a row.

VIRGINIA 72, No. 24 FLORIDA STATE 60: In Charlottes­ville, Va., Simone Egwu had 17 points and 11 rebounds as the Cavaliers (16-13, 8-10 ACC) ended a five-game losing streak by defeating the Seminoles (21-8, 11-7).
