Mom gets probation for duct-tape photos

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. — A judge on Tuesday sentenced a Coconino County woman to probation after she pleaded guilty to child abuse for posting photos of her duct-taped young children on Facebook.

Kayla Almuina, 20, could see her felony child abuse conviction reduced to a misdemeanor if she successfully completes her three years of probation, according to the Arizona Daily Sun.

The paper reports the felony conviction will remain for her husband, Frankie Almuina, who was earlier sentenced to 18 months of probation.

Frankie Almuina told jurors he was playing a game with his children when he taped their hands, mouths and feet in December 2011.
