Herbfest features fun and plants for the garden
The Friends of the Rio Grande Nature Center will present Herbfest, a springtime celebration benefiting education at the Nature Center, on May 11-12. Hours are 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Herbfest is free; day-use parking is $3.
Activities include music, crafts for the kids, live birds with Wildlife Rescue, guided bird and nature walks and herbs, wildflowers and plants for sale.
Saturday, May 11 slide shows and talks include Tess Grasswitz on “NM Plants for Pollinators and Other Beneficial Insects” at 11 a.m., and George Miller and Tom Stewart talk about “NM Native Plants at Home and in the Wild” at 1 p.m.
On Sunday, May 12, Wes Brittenham presents “Creating a Wildlife Habitat” at 11 a.m., and Judith Phillips talks about “Strategies for Gardening in an Extreme Climate” at 1 p.m.
