Campgrounds in the Gila are open for the season
The Quemado Ranger District of the Gila National Forest has reopened two campgrounds that were closed during the winter.
The Piñon and Juniper campgrounds located in the Quemado Lake Recreation Area off state Highway 32 and Forest Road 13 are now open. And, two group sites located within the Piñon campground will be open and available for reservations.
Potable water will be available at the Cove Lake access and the Juniper and Piñon campgrounds. In addition, the dump station at Piñon campground is open.
