Lewis will run for 2nd term on City Council
City Council President Dan Lewis says he will seek re-election to a second term in District 5, which covers the northern West Side.
Lewis, a Republican, said he has an “open door” policy and prides himself on responding to constituents. He said he and his wife, Tracy, are looking forward to a positive campaign.
“Together with so many wonderful people who care deeply about our city we have accomplished so much, but there is so much more we believe we can do,” he said in a written statement. “We are looking forward to an aggressive and positive re-election campaign.”
Lewis will face Eloise Gift, a Democrat, who also has announced plans to run in District 5.
He is the founding pastor of Soul Rio Church and executive vice president of Desert Fuels Inc., a petroleum and bio-fuel supplier.
