A prayer service for those diagnosed with cancer, including those in remission, will be at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at the Shrine of St. Bernadette, 11410 Indian School NE. The service will include the Catholic sacrament of Anointing of the Sick. For information, call 298-7557.
“Honoring the Women in Our Lives,” a Mother’s Day potluck hosted by the Boys & Girls Clubs Albuquerque and Rio Rancho and Wings for L.I.F.E., a ministry connecting families of inmates with local church members, will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Monday at the Boys & Girls Clubs, 3333 Truman NE. San Ysidro Catholic Parish, 5015 Corrales Road, will celebrate the feast of San Yisdro, patron saint of farmers, with a fiesta Friday through May 11. It begins with a raffle at 4 p.m. Friday. Activities on May 11 include bingo from 1 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. The fiesta concludes May 12 with Mass at 10 a.m., followed by a procession, entertainment, family activities and food until 5 p.m. Raffle tickets are $100 and available at the parish office. Congregation Albert’s Brotherhood Breakfast features Kent Walz, editor of the Albuquerque Journal, who will discuss print media in the digital age. The breakfast will be at 10 a.m. May 19 at 3800 Louisiana NE. High school and college students studying journalism are invited to attend, and the cost will be $5 with ID and reservations. Cost is $10 for Brotherhood and Sisterhood members and $12 for all others.
