■ TO SEE THE 1,121 wins by Coach Ralph Tasker in the Journal a few days back is still mind boggling. Nolan Richardson is the only men’s college basketball coach to win an NCAA, NIT and JC title and he credited his “40 minutes of hell” to Coach Tasker’s well oiled machine of the 60s, 70s and 80s. Wow!

FLANFAN AND OTHERS are bragging on the Lobo Women’s Basketball team being at or near a 500 record. This shows just how far the program has fallen. The only thing that has changed is that the schedule has gotten easier as MWC play has begun and the MWC has a grand total of three teams with overall winning records. … Very predictable and unimpressive and if mediocrity is the goal then it’s a successful season!

ANY CHANCE OF the Rockies playing a couple of exhibition (Spring) games here in Albuquerque?

— RM Per Isotopes general manager John Traub: “It is certainly on the docket for future seasons. There’s a lot that goes into making these games come to fruition, but we’re keeping our fingers crossed for 2016.” PATRIOTS OR SEAHAWKS? I root for whatever team the evil Belichick’s team plays.

GOOD THING THAT Marshawn Lynch isn’t talking much. Based on what I heard, I’m guessing he dropped out of school after either the 2nd or 3rd grade?

— JC, SoCal REGARDING THE ARTICLE by Ed Johnson regarding Craig Neal’s rocky road at UNM, I can’t believe the situation here is different than anywhere else. Fans are fickle everywhere. … (A) .500 season for Lobo basketball will probably get a coach run out of town, while a .500 Lobo football season may get the coach a contract extension with bonus. From my perspective Neal and Davie are doing an admirable job, but like all fans, I want more. Hopefully our coaches, and athletic director, understand that and have developed a thick skin.
