A NEW BUSINESS TAX WORKSHOP, presented by the N.M. Taxation & Revenue, from 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. at the CNM Workforce Training Center, 5600 Eagle Rock NE. The free workshop is a comprehensive look at the Combined Reporting System (CRS) for gross receipts, withholding and compensating tax programs. Topics include nontaxable transaction certificates; estimated income-tax payments for business owners; deductions and exemptions from gross receipts; special tax programs; audits; and e-file training. Also, a volunteer CPA will discuss federal tax issues including reporting forms, self-employment tax, estimated tax and good record-keeping business practices. Admission is free.

WESST is sponsoring a workshop for business owners and entrepreneurs on How to Use Instagram To Connect With Customers and Showcase Their Offerings, by Amy Lahti, WESST consultant and trainer, from 10 a.m.noon at the WESST Enterprise Center, 609 Broadway NE. The workshop will include a panel of active Instagram users discussing how they use this powerful social-media tool. Panelists include Erin Kleymann - Willa June Jewelry; Sarah Hartford - Hartford Square; and Leah Black - Marble Brewery. The workshop fee is $25.

GRAM (PTAP) presents a free VA Federal Procurement Matchmaking Event from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. in the Jemez Rooms of the main building at Santa Fe Community College, 6401 Richards Ave. in Santa Fe. Participants will receive an overview of selling to the VA; one-on-one sessions with VA contracting officers; and PTAP workshops on government registrations and smallbusiness certifications. Admission is free: seating is limited.

MEXICO presents a Divorce Options Workshop from 6-8 p.m. at the State Bar of New Mexico, 5121 Masthead NE. The free workshop includes a presentation by volunteer attorneys, materials on divorce and an open question-and-answer period. The program is co-sponsored by the New Mexico State Bar Foundation, the State Bar Family Law Section, the Albuquerque Bar Association, and the New Mexico Collaborative Practice Group.

BEEKEEPERS, urban beekeeping in New Mexico’s largest city, meets from 6:30-8:30 p.m. in Budaghers Hall at Bosque School, 4000 Learning Rd. NW. The meeting will have an all-new format. The event will feature a panel of knowledgeable local beekeepers who will answer any and all questions related to beekeeping.

ERS presents a three-session class, Marketing for Writers by Barbara Lemaire, Ph.D., CEO and chief strategist of Social Media Made Simple, from 1-4 p.m. on Saturdays, Feb. 7, 14 and 21 at the Carlisle Executive Offices, 3200 Carlisle NE. Topics include participants’ need to market themselves as authors and to promote their writing; answering basic questions about ourselves as writers and our audience; branding; database/ email marketing; blogging and much more. A basic marketing plan will be developed to be modified as your needs change. The course fee is $119 SWW members, $129 for Osher Lifelong Learning Institute members, and $139 for others.
