Dolphins’ Jordan suspended

DE banned for entire 2015 season

-

DAVIE, Fla. — Dion Jordan’s 2015 season is over before it started, and his tumultuous time with the Miami Dolphins may be finished, as well.

The Dolphins and the NFL announced Tuesday that Jordan has been suspended for the 2015 season for violating the NFL Policy and Program for Substances of Abuse.

The defensive end was not at any of the team’s voluntary workouts last week.

BRONCOS: Declaring he feels good both physically and mentally, Peyton Manning made it clear Tuesday that he doesn’t view the 2015 season as his farewell tour.

“I wouldn’t call it that. That’s not how I see it,” the 39-year-old quarterback said in his first public comments this offseason.

JETS : A person familiar with the situation says New York has been fined $100,000 by the NFL for tampering because of owner Woody Johnson’s comments in December about Darrelle Revis, then a member of the New England Patriots.

… According to an ESPN report, at least two NFL teams have inquired about trading for Jets star defensive lineman Muhammad Wilkerson.

Wilkerson has been a noshow during the team’s voluntary workouts because of stalled contract talks between his representation and the Jets’ front office.

JONES-DREW: Maurice Jones-Drew signed a one-day contract with the Jacksonville Jaguars on Tuesday, ceremoniously retiring with the team that drafted him in 2006 and ending a nine-year career that included 13,348 all-purpose yards and 81 touchdowns.

RAVENS: The team has canceled an NFL draft party at its stadium in the wake of rioting in the city.

The event was scheduled Thursday night at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore. The Ravens say the decision to cancel the party for their fans came “out of respect to the curfew in Baltimore.”

The city’s mayor imposed a 10 p.m.-to-5 a.m. curfew after riots broke out Monday after the funeral of Freddie Gray, who died April 19 of spinal cord and other injuries sustained while in police custody.
