Lucille Ball’s birth date was marked in Jamestown, N.Y., with a new beautiful statue of her in the town. Last fall, a scary-looking sculpted statue of her was unveiled, but the sculptor agreed to make a new one. The scary Lucille Ball statue was moved to Malibu, where it’s the Caitlyn Jenner statue.

A Danish travel agency in Copenhagen surveyed 40,000 people around the world, asking their favorite country. The winner was Germany and second was Japan. It just shows that if you manufactur­e a quality automobile, it goes a long way toward making up for past war crimes.

Malaysia’s government said wreckage found in the Indian Ocean was from the missing Malaysia Airlines plane that veered off course and disappeare­d last year. The pilots’ names were Fariq Hamas and Ahmed Shah. Given this informatio­n, the best guess is that the plane was en route to the White House.

President Obama compared GOP lawmakers to Iran hardliners who chant for death to America on Wednesday. He’s still willing to bargain with Republican­s. With a showdown looming with Congress over budget cuts, the president just offered to cut three programs, Hannity, Limbaugh and O’Reilly.

California wildfires continued raging in mountains up and down the Golden State. So far, it’s all rural areas, but homeowners in LA are increasing­ly nervous. Some beautiful homes in Southern California are built on bluffs, because nobody ever asks to see the tax returns.
