For the sixth year, Fidelity Investments has partnered with the Corporate Volunteer Council and Albuquerque Public Schools to participate in a school supply drive to collect the necessary supplies for students in need who attend APS schools.

With 72 percent of the schools in APS being Title 1 schools and more than 68 percent of the students taking part in the free lunch program, the need for help from community partners continues to grow.

Participating organizations had been gathering supplies and delivered them to Albuquerque Public Schools on Aug. 4. Participating organizations included Fidelity Investments; AON Risk Solutions; Aveda Institute New Mexico; Bank of Albuquerque; Bernalillo County; Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Mexico; city of Albuquerque; Department of Workforce Solutions; Gap Inc.; Leading Edge; Molina Health Care; New Mexico Health Insurance Exchange; PNM; Sandia Laboratory Federal Credit Union; Sandia National Laboratories; TriCore Reference Laboratories; University of Phoenix; and Wells Fargo. Fidelity Investments rented two school buses to pick up the supplies from the participating organizations. The supplies stocked buses arrived at the Albuquerque Public Schools warehouse and were sorted for delivery to local schools this week.
