ALBUQUERQUE OPPORTUNITY CENTER
(AOC) seeks volunteers to assist men experiencing homelessness and recovering from acute injury or illness who are staying at the AOC campus. Respite drivers provide transportation to medical and benefits appointments in AOC large passenger vans. Volunteers serve once or twice per week in three-hour shifts. Driver training is provided. CATHOLIC CHARITIES CENTER FOR REFUGEE SETTLEMENT AND SUPPORT seeks adult volunteers to assist political refugees in finding employment in Albuquerque. SENIOR TRANSPORTATION DRIVERS, especially in the 87121, 87105 and 87102 areas, are sought by the city of Albuquerque’s Department of Senior Affairs Retired and Volunteer Program (RSVP) to provide transportation to ambulatory seniors age 60 and older to medical appointments, grocery shopping and government offices. Volunteers set their own schedule and zip code destination. Gas cards or mileage reimbursement are available. RSVP is part of Senior Corps and is administered by the Corporation for National and Community Service.
