Celtics win in Cleveland on buzzer- beater

Bulls lose game and Butler; Spurs overwhelm Mavs

CLEVELAND — Avery Bradley made a corner jumper at the horn to give the Boston Celtics a stunning 104-103 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Friday night.

Bradley’s shot just in front of Boston’s bench dropped through as the final second ticked off the clock, giving the Celtics their eighth win in nine games.

Boston trailed by five points with 18 seconds left before Celtics forward Jae Crowder made a 3-pointer and Evan Turner scored on a layup while being fouled by J.R. Smith with 4 seconds to go. Turner missed his free throw but the ball went out of bounds off Cleveland’s LeBron James.

Boston coach Brad Steven drew up an inbounds play during a video review and Bradley dropped his shot. James led the Cavs with 30 points.

NUGGETS 115, BULLS 110: In Denver, Danilo Gallinari scored 33 points and Denver rallied for a victory against Chicago after the Bulls lost All-Star Jimmy Butler to a sprained left knee.

Emmanuel Mudiay added 22 points for the Nuggets, who outscored the Bulls 42-21 in the fourth quarter.

Butler was fouled near the basket by Joffrey Lauvergne and fell awkwardly to the floor with 1:06 remaining in the second quarter. He was tended to by medical personnel before getting to his feet and gingerly making his way to the foul line, where he made one of the two foul shots.

SPURS 116, MAVERICKS 90: In Dallas, Kawhi Leonard scored 16 of his 23 points in the first half as San Antonio handed Dallas its largest halftime deficit in franchise history (62-26) in a blowout victory.

The Spurs (42-8) matched their its best 50-game start.

CLIPPERS 107, MAGIC 93: In Orlando, Fla., Chris Paul had 21 points and six assists, and DeAndre Jordan had 12 points and 18 rebounds as Los Angeles beat Orlando for its fifth win in six games.

J.J. Redick and Jamal Crawford each scored 20 points for the Clippers.

NETS 128, KINGS 119: In New York, Joe Johnson had season highs with 27 points as Brooklyn beat Sacramento.

The Nets set season bests for points and 3-pointers while snapping a five-game losing streak. Reserve Bojan Bogdanovic made seven of their 18 3-pointers.

JAZZ 84, BUCKS 81: In Salt Lake City, Rodney Hood scored 23 points as Utah defeated Milwaukee.

The Jazz won its season-high fifth consecutiv­e game.

HEAT 98, HORNETS 95: In Charlotte, N.C., Hassan Whiteside had 10 points, 10 rebounds and 10 blocked shots, and Miami came up with two key steals in the closing seconds of a win over Charlotte.

Dwyane Wade scored 22 points for the Heat, which has won six of seven.

WIZARDS 106, 76ERS 94: In Washington, John Wall had his fourth career triple-double with 18 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists in leading Washington over Philadelph­ia.

Marcin Gortat had 21 points and had 13 rebounds for the Wizards.

GRIZZLIES 91, KNICKS 85: In New York, Jeff Green scored 16 points, including two free throws with 6.2 seconds left, to help Memphis hold off New York for its fifth straight win.

Matt Barnes had 12 points and Zach Randolph and Marc Gasol each had 10 for Memphis.

HAWKS 102, PACERS 96: In Atlanta, Paul Millsap scored 24 points as Atlanta beat Indiana for third straight victory.
