Warriors fend off Thunder’s late charge

Bryant scores 25 as Lakers fall to Spurs

OAKLAND, Calif. — Stephen Curry scored 26 points and Harrison Barnes added 19 as the Golden State Warriors won their 41st straight regular-season home game, beating Oklahoma City 116108 on Saturday night.

Klay Thompson added 18 as the Warriors (46-4) won their ninth straight game to match the 1966-67 Philadelph­ia 76ers for the best record ever after 50 games. Golden State is three wins of tying the Chicago Bulls (1995-96) for the longest home winning streak in NBA history.

Kevin Durant had 40 points and 14 rebounds, and Russell Westbrook added 27 points for the Thunder, which had won five straight and 12 of 13.

Curry helped the Warriors break out to a 20-point lead in the second quarter, but OKC charged back. Enes Kanter eventually tied the game at 104 with a fall-away jumper, but Curry responded with a driving layup and Thompson followed a Durant miss with a long-range basket that keyed 12-4 burst down the stretch.

SPURS 106, LAKERS 102: In San Antonio, Texas, LaMarcus Aldridge had 26 points as San Antonio beat Los Angeles.

Kawhi Leonard added 20 points to help the Spurs win their 28th straight home game to open the season.

Kobe Bryant scored 25 points for the Lakers.

TIMBERWOLV­ES 112, BULLS 105: In Minneapoli­s, Andrew Wiggins scored six of his 21 points in the final 90 seconds to help Minnesota beat Chicago.

Trailing by five with 2:30 to play, the Timberwolv­es closed the game with a 12-0 surge to win it in the Bulls’ first game without All-Star guard Jimmy Butler, who strained his left knee Friday.

MAVERICKS 114, GRIZZLIES 110 (OT): In Memphis, Tenn., Chandler Parsons scored 26 points, including a pair of 3-pointers in overtime, to lead Dallas to a victory over Memphis.

Dirk Nowitzki’s 21-foot jumper with 16.6 seconds left pushed the Dallas lead to 112109, and the Mavs held on.

CAVALIERS 99, PELICANS 84: In Cleveland, Kyrie Irving scored 29 points and LeBron James added 27 as Cleveland bounced back from two straight losses with a win over New Orleans.

Cleveland improved to 6-3 since Tyronn Lue replaced David Blatt as head coach.

TRAIL BLAZERS 96, ROCKETS 79: In Houston, Damian Lillard had 21 points to lead Portland past Houston.

The Trail Blazers were up by 19 at halftime.

76ERS 103, NETS 98: In Philadelph­ia, Jahlil Okafor had 22 points and 17 rebounds, and Nerlens Noel added 18 points to lead Philadelph­ia over Brooklyn.

T.J. McConnell tied his career-high with 17 points for the 76ers.

PACERS 112, PISTONS 104: In Indianapol­is, Paul George scored 30 points to help Indiana hold off Detroit.

Indiana nearly squandered a 20-point third-quarter lead, but held on thanks to five missed free throws by Andre Drummond in the final 3:30.

HORNETS 108, WIZARDS 104: In Charlotte, N.C., Nicolas Batum had 26 points and 11 rebounds, as Charlotte rallied to beat Washington.

Kemba Walker added 23 points for the Hornets.

JAZZ 98, SUNS 89: In Phoenix, Rodney Hood scored 25 points as Utah stretched its winning streak to six games with a victory over Phoenix.

The Suns lost their seventh straight and are 2-22 in their last 24 games.
