Lore Baldwin, 86, of Yankton, South Dakota, died Saturday, January 2, 2016 at Avera Sister James Care Center in Yankton. Lore was born 4 January 1929 in Merseburg, Germany to Paul and Else Uhlmann. She was united in marriage on 29 July, 1950 to Gerald Baldwin in Heidelberg, Germany. Her life was full and active, living in such places as South Korea, Alaska (before it became a state), Germany, and six different US States; almost 40 years were in Albuquerqu­e, New Mexico. She became known as Oma in 1971 after the birth of her first grandchild, and no one loved her grand and great grandchild­ren more than Oma.

Lore is survived by her children: Stephen and his wife Vickie of Linn Creek, Missouri; Ralph and his wife Gloria of Albuquerqu­e, New Mexico; and Kathy Kirby and her husband Steve of Yankton, South Dakota. She is also survived by her sister, Beate Khan and her husband Jamal of Islamabad, Pakistan. She was blessed with grandchild­ren: Rebecca Dautenhahn and her husband Jon of Camdenton, Missouri; Paul Baldwin and his wife Amanda of Papillion, Nebraska; Melissa Cadena of Albuquerqu­e, New Mexico; Brian Kirby of Portland, Oregon; Christophe­r Baldwin of Marina Del Rey, California; Craig Kirby and his wife Eliya of Casper, Wyoming; Stephanie Padilla and her husband, Chris of Albuquerqu­e, New Mexico; and Katrina Romero and her husband Ramon of Yankton, South Dakota. She was additional­ly blessed with 11 great grandchild­ren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband of over 60 years, Gerald, who passed away in December, 2010.

A celebratio­n of her life will be held at 11 AM, 20 February 2016 at the Wintz and Ray Funeral Home in Yankton with Pastor Jon Cooke officiatin­g.
