HOROSCOPES

TODAY’S BIRTHDAY

(March 6): Your solar positioning at the start of this new cycle suggests that you’ll get a big hurdle out of the way immediately: Dive in and handle it so you can move on to what’s exciting and new. There’s a lesson in this, and you’ll powerfully apply it to your love life in May. July brings a windfall; September brings a move. Sagittarius and Scorpio adore you. Your lucky numbers are: 4, 29, 3, 33 and 18.

ARIES (March 21-April 19): Try not to get discouraged over the individual moments that don’t go exactly as anticipated. Truly, it’s the bigger process of life that matters more now than some isolated happening in one increment of time.

TAURUS (April 20-May 20): Getting out of your own point of view will be lucky. When you try to see the world as someone else sees it, you’ll capture a valuable piece of information you’d have otherwise missed. You can apply this and make a profit!

GEMINI (May 21-June 21): Stress and boredom — two equally unsatisfying conditions you should avoid at all costs today. It’s easy to do so. All you have to do is engage in “your thing” and stay there for as long as possible.

CANCER (June 22-July 22): The diversity around you will inspire you to question the absolute truth of any one particular view. More than any societal standard, you can rely on your private conscience to point the way.

LEO (July 23-Aug. 22): A tight sensation in the tummy can be interpreted as anxiety, excitement or even, in some cultures, a response of the gods. As for you, you’re more likely to interpret this symptom as a crush.

VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22): You have access to accurate information, expert advice and the best map around. Even with all of that, you won’t know the exact route your journey will take until you take it. You’re ready now.

LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 23): Your life is a bit like a puzzle in its box today in that you’ve absolutely got everything you need to make this work; it’s just that all the pieces aren’t in the right order yet.

SCORPIO (Oct. 24-Nov. 21): Because you’ve so much to draw from in the high emotional range, you can easily celebrate more than one thing at a time today. As for the low emotional range, try and leave it alone. Multiplication and worry don’t go together.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21): It’s hard to tell whether this is about circumstances that have you on edge or your edgy reaction to circumstances. Either way, this emotional sharpness could be used as a weapon or a tool.

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19): The best relationships are light. They make you laugh and feel free to come and go as you please. You don’t feel trapped or obligated. If you’re not there because you want to be there, something is amiss.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18): Maybe you haven’t figured out yet what’s in it for you. This isn’t selfish; in fact, it’s a good idea to sort it out as quickly as possible. It will be hard to get any momentum going then.

PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20): If you spend too much time documenting today’s happenings you won’t get nearly what you could out the situation. This day is so stocked with opportunity, you couldn’t possibly make good on all of it!

FORECAST FOR THE WEEK

AHEAD: The supermoon is impressive when the moon and sun are in opposition because it’s full and seems pregnant with promises, poetic intensity and romantic ardor. But what about when the moon is new, as it will be in Pisces on Tuesday?

The new moon, by definition, is practically invisible and size less of a factor in its shadowed state. Unless you live in Sumatra, Borneo or Sulawesi, chances are you won’t find the total solar eclipse of the Pisces sun much of a spectacle. So most of the implications of this dark night are mystical, spiritual and evocative of profound states of being.

This dreamy psychic influence very specifically targets the spaces in between consciousness. It’s the “you” who lives in the moments between the sleep and the dream. Then it’s the person who exists in the elastic time that bridges the dark, unconscious cocoon of sleep to the linear time and physical space of the room one wakes up inside. Do you know that person dancing between realities? It’s you, stripped free of the layers of personality and belief that hold you to any particular world. To accept and love that being is to know bliss.
