COACH SANCHEZ is a class act! Not only did she start all her seniors, she honored the seniors of the opposition and also honored the UNM Spirit Band for their hard work all year. Contrast this with Coach Neal who played his seniors in mop up minutes even though down 20 points. Then he threw the seniors under the bus blaming them unfairly for the lopsided score in the loss. Another demonstration of low character and the reason his team will always be mediocre.

TOO MUCH “they, them and those guys” when things are bad and “I, Me and My Guys” when things are going well. How about a lot more “WE, US, OUR GUYS” on a consistent basis?

LOBO MEN’S basketball misses out on marketing opportunities for games in the Pit. One: why not schedule UCLA here while the former local high school stars (Cullen and Bryce) are still playing at their respective universities? Two: every Nov. at the start of basketball season there is the Jimmy V. Classic with games held around the country. Why doesn’t UNM try to host a game or two here for that classic? Three: move the bull riding event to other dates so UNM can be the site again for NCAA regional games.

IT’S PATHETIC to listen to the local sports hosts on (610) defend Richie McNeal. I hear Siembieda have to ask his partner, “Am I being fair?” every time he says something negative about McNeal or the program. … This is what happens when hosts are on a first name basis with the coach or when they rub elbows with the coach too often. About the only objective commentary that you get at 610 are from Buch and Lucero, a frequent guest. …

AS A PAYING PARENT of a UNM student they are talking about a tuition increase AGAIN which will nonetheless pay for the Salary increase for Coach Davies and the mediocre football team. Will they be reducing the Salary for Coach Neal? (It) would only be fair. Please end the love affair your photographer has with Cullen, instead of Lobos, it should be just Lobo.
