Santa Fe National Forest managers are undertakin­g a landscape-scale restoratio­n project in the southwest Jemez Mountains in an attempt to improve resilience to disturbanc­es such as fire, insect pests, disease and climate change.

An update on implementa­tion of the plan and its impacts on vegetation, wildlife, cultural resources and more will be outlined in sessions April 7-8 at the Santa Fe Community College. Thursday’s session will include project managers’ reports, while the following day will be opened to public discussion. Both sessions start at 8 a.m.; Thursday’s meeting will end at 5 p.m. and Friday’s at 2:30 p.m.
