Traditional baile to be held Saturday

Crack some eggshells over people’s heads and participate in other traditional dances with the Baile de los Cascarones.

The 77th annual event will be held 7-11 p.m. Saturday at the Santa Fe Community Convention Center. Tickets are $15 per couple, $10 per person and $2 for kids 6-18, available at the door.

The baile to celebrate Easter and the end of Lent is presented by La Sociedad Folklórica, a nonprofit group dedicated to collecting, preserving and passing on knowledge of the customs of the Spanish ancestors of those who settled in New Mexico.
