Tough harvest

A weak global farm economy and a downturn in construction and equipment sales have hurt Deere & Co. this year.

The agricultural equipment maker has posted lower earnings and sales in the first two quarters of its current fiscal year. In May, the company lowered its full-year earnings forecast and issued a weak third-quarter outlook. Deere delivers the results for that May-July quarter today.
