Telescopes talk

John Briggs will talk about the wonderful world of telescopes and related scientific instruments during the general meeting of The Albuquerque Astronomical Society, 7 p.m. Saturday at the Science and Math Learning Center on the University of New Mexico campus. Prior to Briggs’ talk, a TAAS Astronomy 101 program at 6 p.m. will explore globular star clusters, tight groups of hundreds of thousands of very old stars. Both programs are free and open to the public. The learning center is on the west end of the UNM campus, just south of Scholes Hall.
