Photograph­er Stan Ford is serving as the first artist-inresidenc­e at Pecos National Historical Park and will share some of his insights, especially concerning landscape and night sky photograph­y, in upcoming events at the park.

From 3-5 p.m. Saturday, he’ll guide workshop participan­ts on compositio­n and exposure as they photograph Forked Lightning Ranch; this is limited to six people, so check for openings at 505-757-7203. From 4-6 p.m. Thursday, he’ll give a presentati­on on his residency and work in a talk in the Kiva Theater at the park; an open house celebratin­g the 100th anniversar­y of the National Parks will run 7-7:30 p.m. that day, with refreshmen­ts and live music by Lone Piñon from Santa Fe.

Finally, from 7-10 p.m. on Aug. 30, Ford will lead a photograph­y workshop, limited to 12 people, on using long exposures after dark. Call the number mentioned previously to sign up.
