Photographer to share expertise
Photographer Stan Ford is serving as the first artist-inresidence at Pecos National Historical Park and will share some of his insights, especially concerning landscape and night sky photography, in upcoming events at the park.
From 3-5 p.m. Saturday, he’ll guide workshop participants on composition and exposure as they photograph Forked Lightning Ranch; this is limited to six people, so check for openings at 505-757-7203. From 4-6 p.m. Thursday, he’ll give a presentation on his residency and work in a talk in the Kiva Theater at the park; an open house celebrating the 100th anniversary of the National Parks will run 7-7:30 p.m. that day, with refreshments and live music by Lone Piñon from Santa Fe.
Finally, from 7-10 p.m. on Aug. 30, Ford will lead a photography workshop, limited to 12 people, on using long exposures after dark. Call the number mentioned previously to sign up.
