How does the proposed development of 68.9 acres at St. Francis Drive, Rabbit Road and I-25 move through the planning process with a description: “Nothing is planned. The key is to (first) get infrastructure and electricity”? Speculation to build a 300,000-square-foot warehouse or a 150,000-square-foot office complex or dense housing (not really affordable housing) in a residential area that was once the Extraterritorial Zone (designed to allow for a transition between urban and rural environments) is another example of NO planning. This scheme, minus any connection to Santa Fe County’s Sustainable Land Development Code or the City’s Verde Fund, is a political gift to those involved.
