TRIATHLON

LOCALS ROMP HOME: Capital City locals took home the top prizes in Saturday’s Santa Fe Sprint Triathlon as Silvio Lopez won the men’s race in one hour, one minute, 15.1 seconds and Lis Desmond grabbed the women’s in 1:14:44.2.

THERAPY FUNDRAISER: The Las Campanas Compadres Triathlon & Kids Race 2016, a fundraiser for the organizati­on that provides therapeuti­c horseback riding and swimming programs for people with special needs, is set for Sept. 5. SANTA FE THUNDER: The annual grind that is the Santa Fe Thunder half marathon, 5K run and 1-mile walk through the rolling hills surroundin­g Santa Fe is coming up Sept. 18. It’s a unique blend of competitio­n and culture as only Santa Fe can produce. For more informatio­n, see santafethu­nder.com.
