WINGS FOR LIFE INTERNATIONAL will hold its fourth annual Celebration of Champions, honoring longtime supporters Charlie and Shirley Villa, on Sept. 7. This event will feature a not-so-silent auction, a seated dinner and an after party. The auction, 5:30 p.m., and dinner, 6:30 p.m., will be at the Hotel Albuquerque Alvarado Ballroom. MEALS ON WHEELS, Is in need of regular route drivers and substitute drivers to deliver meals to their homebound clients for the Albuquerque downtown and surrounding areas. Once a week for one or two hours. Meals are delivered between 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. PAWS THRIFT STORE: seeks volunteers to assist customers and to prepare donated items for sale. Profits from Paws Thrift Store supports Cottonwood Cats Sanctuary, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit with the mission of creating a comfortable and safe permanent home for cats who outlive their human caretakers and geriatric cats who have failed to be adopted from local shelters.
