Padilla, Stanley

1954-2016 Stanley Padilla, age 62, a lifelong resident of Jarales, NM, was called home to be with our Lord on Sunday, September 24, 2016. Stanley was born on September 24, 1954 to Ernesto and Carlotta Padilla. Tending to the Padilla family home in Jarales was Stanley’s pride and he was known for his open and inviting hospitality to all his neighbors. For over 30 years Stanley hosted the beloved Rosary prayer and Posadas at his home during Christmas for his family and friends. For 28 years Stanley was a fixture at the customer service booth in the Los Lunas Smith’s Food and Drug store. His customer service and close relationships with his coworkers were legendary. In 2012 he was awarded the New Mexico Smith’s Employee of the Year.

Stanley is preceded in death by his dear grandparents; Adolfo and Jesusita Padilla and Eduardo and Bonefacia Barreras; mother and father Carlota and Ernesto Padilla; sisters, Lucy Padilla and Helen Baca; brothers, Larry, Eloy and Robert Padilla; and greatnephew, Miguel Chavez.

He is survived by his sister, Ramona Johnson, brothers, Bennie L. Padilla, Ruben Padilla and wife, Dolores, and David Padilla; sister-in-law, Loretta Padilla; and brother-in-law, Albino Baca. Stanley is also survived by twenty one nephews and nieces and countless close friends. All services will be held at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church, on Wednesday, September 28, 2016. A Public Viewing will begin at 10:30 a.m., with a Rosary to be recited at 11:30 a.m., and a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 12:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Belen Memorial Gardens.
