Richard "Dick/ Wogs" Corn joined his wife Cecile in heaven on September 30, 2016. Born May 20, 1920 in Chicago, Illinois,he resided in Albuquerqu­e for 50 years,and in Poquoson the last 3 years, and passed away peacefully at the age of 96.

After studying engineerin­g for two years in college, Dick joined the USNavy and flew Patrol Aviation. During WWII he flew in the Caribbean where he met his wife Cecile Rutty in Kingston, Jamaica. He was also a veteran of the Korean War. After his service in the Navy, he returned to his studies and became a design engineer at Sandia National Labs in Albuquerqu­e, NM. He was very active in the Masonic Lodge and became the Grand Master at Mesa Lodge #68 in Albuquerqu­e. He was an active member of Christ The King Anglican Church in Albuquerqu­e.

Dick was preceded in death by his mother Elizabeth Boch; wife Cecile of 68 years; and two daughters, Patricia and Andrea. He is survived by his son Rick Corn and wife Earleen, daughter Peggy Landis and husband Bill, and daughter Susan Fladager and husband Curt. He is also survived by seven grandchild­ren, fourteen greatgrand­children, and two greatgreat-grandchild­ren.

A Memorial service will be held Thursday evening, October 6th, 6:00 PM, at Claytor Rollins Funeral Home, Poquoson, with Masonic Rites and Navy Honors. His ashes will be interned with Cecile in Albuquerqu­e in November. Special thanks to Morningsid­e Assisted Living, Newport News and Medi-Hospice for the special care in his final hours.
