Lensic Performing Arts Center, 211 West San Francisco St., and the Lannan Foundation host a discussion with Anne Carson with Michael Silverman at 7 p.m. Carson is a poet, translator and professor of classics. Her 20 books include “Eros the Bittersweet” and “Autobiography of Red.” Silverblatt is the host of KCRW’s “Bookworm” nationally syndicated radio program featuring writers of fiction and poetry. Taos Community Auditorium, Encore Gallery, 145 Paseo del Norte, hosts an artist talk and poetry reading with Hank Brusselback from 4 to 6 p.m. The event is held in conjunction with Brusselback’s solo show titled “Scenes From the Rosy-Fingered Dawn” and includes readings by poets Gaia Mika, Kate O’Neill, Judy Buffaloe and Linda Fair.
