Lemmel, Robert Gale

July 25, 1932 – October 21, 2016 Robert was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence Lemmel; mother, Lillian Lemmel; sister, Mildred Johnson; and nieces, Wendy Johnson and Trina Fisher.

He is survived by his wife, Joanne; son, Gary and wife Yvonne; daughter, Cindy Breshears; granddaugh­ter, Crystal and her husband Jarred Baldwin; great-granddaugh­ter, Carly; sister, Lois Kaiser and many loved nieces and nephews.

Robert met the love of his life Joanne and married her in 1952. They recently celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversar­y on October 15, 2016. He was a dedicated family man who loved his family unconditio­nally. He was all about his family.

After graduating from Albuquerqu­e High in 1950, where he lettered in baseball and basketball, he worked in the winter time as a dental technician for his father’s dental lab, Norris Waldie Dental Laboratory. In the summer time he played profession­al baseball, at 5’9" he was known as "Shorty." He played for the Roswell Rockets, Pueblo Dodgers, Magic Valley Cowboys and the Albuquerqu­e Dukes in 1953. He was a very competitiv­e individual who enjoyed fishing and hunting.

He started his own dental lab in 1974 called Ideal Dental Laboratory and it grew to be one of largest dental labs in NM. Ideal Dental Laboratory is still in business today 42 years later.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, November 4, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at FRENCH-Lomas, followed by a reception.
