Limetime achievement, affiliate and rookie of the year
THE SANTA FE ASSOCIATION OF RE
ALTORS® (SFAR) awarded Mindy DeMott, ABR, CRS, GREEN, RSPS, SRES, with the 2016 REALTOR® of the Year award. Mindy is affiliated with Coldwell Banker Trails West and began her career in real estate in 2005. Once a member of the local REALTOR® association, Mindy quickly got involved serving on the Education and Multiple Listing Service Committees. More recently, she was elected to the Board of Directors where she currently serves as a member. Mindy is past president of the Women’s Council of REALTORS® – Santa Fe Chapter, where she was honored as the “Woman of the Year” in 2012.
Mindy is active in the community having volunteered with the Santa Fe Animal Shelter, Habitat for Humanity, International Folk Art Market, Santa Fe Indian Market (SWAIA) and HOST Reading Program. REALTORS® promoting her selection note her generous spirit, willingness to mentor and train new brokers, plus her positive attitude toward all of her endeavours. The REALTOR® of the Year award is one of the highest honors, and the winner is selected based on how he or she upholds and exemplifies the REALTOR® Code of Ethics, industry professionalism, participation in local, state and national REALTOR® associations, as well as community service.
lifetime achievement award
Marg Veneklasen, a REALTOR® with Santa Fe Properties, was honored with a Lifetime Achievement award for over 30 years of dedicated service to the real estate community. Marg started a local property management company and currently serves on the association’s Property Management Council. She earned a Local Business Woman of the Year award for her many accomplishments.
As an activist for children’s recreation, Marg was a major force behind the creation of the decades-long Santa Fe Ski program for children. She promoted a city-wide soccer program for boys and girls – plus she served as a coach and referee. Marg has been active in city government serving as an advocate for recreation on a number of committees and commissions. In 2002, former Mayor Larry Delgado asked Marg to carry the torch bearing the Olympic flame, the symbol of life and competitive spirit, on the last leg of its journey to the Santa Fe Plaza.

Gregg Robinson, co-owner and manager of Prima Title, was honored with the 2016 Affiliate of the Year award. Gregg is an active member of the association’s Affiliates Committee, donating countless hours to charitable events that support the goals of the REALTOR® team. Gregg has continually offered his volunteer leadership, serving on a number of boards and charities including: the Wood Gormley PTA, Santa Fe High Alumni & Booster Club, Santa Fe Boys & Girls Club, Board of Fine Arts for Children & Teens and the Council on International Relations. Gregg currently serves as a board member on the New Mexico Title Insurance Guaranty Association and is assistant vice president of the western region of Lambda Alpha International, a global land economics society.
rookie of the year
Lastly, Laura Decker, a REALTOR® with Coldwell Banker Trails West, was honored with the Rookie of the Year award for her enthusiastic embracing of the REALTORS® Code of Ethics and professionalism. Laura serves on the association’s Technology Committee and is a member of the Women’s Council of REALTORS® – Santa Fe Chapter. She is a volunteer for the Adaptive Ski Program at Ski Santa Fe and with the Santa Fe Public School Adelante Program.
The awards were presented at the association’s annual REALTOR® of the Year dinner event held at the Eldorado Hotel, complete with an entertaining, casinonight theme full of games and chance for guests on Friday, November 18, 2016.
The mission of the Santa Fe Association of REALTORS® (SFAR) is to enhance members’ ability to conduct their individual business successfully and with professional competency. Established in 1948, SFAR is a not-for-profit trade association with a membership comprised of over 700 Realtor members representing a wide range of real estate professionals in the Santa Fe region. We also have an Affiliate membership of related, affiliated businesses that numbers nearly 100.
