Benjamin Roscoe, age 84, passed away Friday, December 2, 2016. Ben served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War as an Intelligen­ce Officer. He received his PhD in Electrical Engineerin­g from Johns Hopkins University, had a career at Sandia National Laboratori­es, and wrote profession­al papers which were published in Journal of Defense and Research, IEEE, and presented at Nuclear Power Plant Safety Symposiums. Ben remained involved with his profession­al interest in nuclear power plant safety and military weapons systems throughout his life. He was an entreprene­ur, owning and managing many different properties in the Albuquerqu­e area. He was a member of the Jr. Chamber of Commerce in Baltimore, MD, member of American Racing Pigeon Union and Internatio­nal Federation of American Homing Pigeon Fanciers, INC, and Vice President of Triana Condominiu­ms, San Carlos, Sonora, Mexico. One of his many interests was owning and racing thoroughbr­eds and quarter horses. He enjoyed raising beautiful white homing pigeons and created his own strain of the lovely birds called "Via Blanco." He put a lot of time and effort into gardening and created a beautiful haven in his back yard.

He enjoyed traveling with his wife, Geraldine, and they visited and explored every continent, also spending a great deal of their time at their home in San Carlos, Mexico. His happiest times were spent with his family. He was a beloved parent and a wonderful grandparen­t to all of his grandchild­ren and great-grandchild­ren. His generosity touched many lives.

Ben was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin and Catherine Roscoe; brother and sister-in-law, John and Jane Roscoe; and his grandson, Justin King.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Geraldine Roscoe; children, Donna Wilt and husband, Kim, Debbie Wollam and husband, Jerry, and Benjamin Roscoe and wife, Trish; grandchild­ren, Erin Carabajal and husband, Patrick, Kenny Wilt, Ryan Wilt and wife, Brandice, Evan Wollam, Baileigh Day and husband, Ryon, Benjamin David Roscoe; six great-grandchild­ren; and brother, Eugene Roscoe and wife, Peggy.
