Gayet, Gary Charles

Gary Charles Gayet passed away at his home on Tuesday, December 20, 2016 of an apparent heart attack. He was born on March 24, 1948 in Raton, New Mexico to Charles John Gayet and Bernadine Gonzales Gayet.

He is survived by his son Aaron Clay Gayet of Cedar Park, TX (Austin), his mother V. Bernadine Gayet, his sister Mari Francine Kirk (Larry and son Ian), his Aunts Sarah De Lorenzo of Albuquerqu­e, NM, Maye N. Gonzales of Alexandria, VA and Catherine Ferrari of Boulder City, NV. He also leaves behind his former wife, Suzanne D. Miller, a number of cousins and many friends.

The family moved to Albuquerqu­e, NM on September 6, 1950 when he was only 1-1/2 years old, later moving to Grants, NM where he graduated from Grants High School. Gary attended Eastern New Mexico University in Portales, NM. His was a land surveyor for many years prior to his employment at the Albuquerqu­e Shooting Range on the West Mesa, where he became a Range Master. He retired on December 31, 2011. Gary kept a beautiful yard, cultivatin­g and growing many plants indoors and out. He was always a gun enthusiast and enjoyed a good hunt. After his retirement he became interested in woodworkin­g an planned to learn to weld. His knowledge of guns and ammunition was vast and he used it to customize his and his friends hunting equipment.

Riverside Funeral Home is in charge of his arrangemen­ts . His instructio­ns are that no final service is to be held to mark his passing other than scattering his ashes at his favorite hunting sites.
