Roland Carter, USAF retired, age 83, born in Pena Blanca, NM and a resident of Albuquerqu­e, passed away Saturday, December 24, 2016.

Mr. Carter is survived by his wife of fifty-one years, Isabel; two daughters, Yvette Ybarra and husband, Trinidad Jr., and Carmel Carter; sister, Evelyn C. Torres and husband, Manuel; three grandchild­ren, Frank and Joseph Ybarra, Jiles Rodarte; mother in -law, Onofre Soberanez; many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; godchildre­n; nieces; nephews; cousins; and friends. Mr. Carter was a Veteran of the United States Air Force during the Korean conflict.

Visitation will be on Thursday, December 29, 2016 from 6:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Gabaldon Mortuary 1000 Old Coors Dr. S.W. with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00p.m. Final visitation will be Friday, December 30, 2016 at 8:30 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 9:00 am. at Holy Family Catholic Church 562 Atrisco Dr. S.W. A Committal Service will follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 11:15 a.m. 501Guadalu­pe St. in Santa Fe, NM. Pallbearer­s will be Trinidad Ybarra Jr., Joseph Ybarra, Matthew Vigil, Tito Soberanez, Michael Trujillo Jr., Albert Vigil Jr., Abel Tena, Frank Ybarra. Honorary pallbearer­s will be Jiles Rodarte, Michael Torres, Jason Rodarte and Albert Vigil Sr.
