Cecyl Armistead-Delleney, 89, of Albuquerqu­e, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 21, 2016. Cecyl was born on February 24,

1927 in Redlevel, Alabama to Frank Gordon Martin and Dale Beasley. She was the second-oldest of four daughters – Civel, Cecyl, Christine and Clara.

On January 19, 1946, Cecyl married Syd Armistead. Their son, Sydney, was born on August 10, 1948. Three months later, due to Syd’s asthma, the family moved to Silver City, NM, where Cecyl began working for the power company. Not long after that, they moved to Albuquerqu­e and she started her 35-year career with PNM. She began as a meter order clerk and retired in 1989 as vice president of human resources, holding many other titles during those years.

Her husband, Syd, passed away in 1990. She married Jimmie Delleney on January 5, 2002 at their church, Eastern Hills Baptist. Cecyl and Jimmie loved to travel. They took many cruises all around the world during their marriage. She was also very active in the church, playing a vital role in the women’s classes and at one point, she was the chairman of every committee the church had. The two moved into Palmilla Senior Living Center in 2014 and began attending Mesa Baptist Church.

Cecyl is survived by her husband, Jimmie; three sisters, Civel, of Scottsdale, AZ, Christine, of Andalusia, AL and Clara, of Albuquerqu­e; her son, Sydney (Pat), of Killeen, Texas, from her first marriage; two granddaugh­ters, Jenny Nesser (Dennis), of Gonzalez, Texas and Julie Armistead, of Killeen, Texas; four great-grandchild­ren and one great-great grandson. Her second marriage to Jimmie Delleney added two children, Mike (Mary Ann), of Folsom, CA, and Susan Savoie (Scott), of Rio Rancho, NM; four grandchild­ren, John Delleney, of Folsom, CA, Berch Savoie (Jenn), of Rio Rancho, NM, Jimmie Savoie (Kristy), of Chehalis, WA, Samantha Eglin (Tony), of Rio Rancho, NM, and seven great-grandchild­ren.

Her favorite Bible verses were Psalm 23 and John 3:16. A visitation will be held Monday, January 2, 2017 at 10:00 a.m., followed by a Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. at FRENCH – Westside.
