Harry passed away quietly and peacefully after months of declining health.

Harry was Born and raised in Yonkers, New York. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Helen P. Smith and their five children, Jim (LeeAnne) Albuquerqu­e, NM, Tom (Jean)-Tyler, TX, Bill (Sue)-Littleton, CO, Kathy Adams (Hugh)-Mission Viejo, CA, Pete (Sue)Colorado Springs, CO, ten grandchild­ren: Alie, Lauren (Asher), Lindsey (Craig), Maggie, Parker, Ryan, Chris, Korey (Kelly), Michael, Katelyn, and two great-grandchild­ren, Hudson and Henry.

Harry graduated from LaSalle Military Academy as salutatori­an in June 1948 where he developed his love for aviation. He then graduated from Manhattan College, New York City, New York in 1952 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Math and Chemistry.

After his service in the United Sates Air Force specializi­ng in Weapons Ordinance Disposal with a National Defense Service Medal, he had a varied career with the Atomic Energy Commission, Department of Energy, Department of Transporta­tion and Lockheed Martin Marietta Corporatio­n, all of which took him to various parts of the U.S. He was always known as the problem solver. Harry lived in Tyler, Texas for the last 14 years, but especially enjoyed his time in Albuquerqu­e from 19641974.

A funeral service will be held for Harry on Friday, January 13, 2017 at 10 a.m. at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 12500 Carmel Ave NE, Albuquerqu­e, NM. Interment with military honors will take place at 2:15 pm at Santa Fe National Cemetery in Santa Fe, NM.
