THE MAYOR SHOULD spend less time with football picks and more time fighting the rising crime that has engulfed this city. Perhaps the voters should elect an A student next election.

ALL YOU “just the men” fans from the Pit, the joke’s on YOU. Mike Bradbury IS a better coach than “Noodles Neal”.

THERE IS NOTHING wrong with a .500 (or so) won-loss record for Lobo Bball each year. It could be worse. What IS wrong is the absence of improved team play. Folks, the Bo’s are not getting better. The SDSU team they beat the other night is an average team too. I hope none of you are holding your breath for a run. Let’s give coach Neal 4 or 5 more years to get it going... — Ken in Tijeras ELIJAH BROWN’S missed layup occurred with 13 seconds left and the Lobos trailing by 9 points, long after the outcome of the game was decided. The Lobos were down 8 with 3 minutes to go and Utah State subsequently made 8/8 free throws. Objectively, that does NOT constitute “unravelling”. Why does the Journal persist in being so negative? Do you think that is “journalism”? If you can’t be big, don’t belittle. — Tom DeCoster, Lobo fan

TOO BAD THAT UNM wasted Tim Williams’ great 30 point/7 rebound performance against Utah State. 17 games into the season (2 exhibition and 15 regular season) and Craig Neal still does not have a rotation set. Injuries/foul trouble aside, players are being substituted in and out so often that it’s hard to know who’s in the game at any time. Once again lit up by mostly uncontested 3 pointers, the Lobo players are obviously out of position on defense. Welcome to town Nevada. The Pit’s “beyond the 3 point arc” is open for business. Fire away.

NM ATHLETE haters that say Lobo football can’t win with NM kids should move to Texas. For the people that bow down to Bob Davie and the outsiders he recruits ill take New Mexico’s best vs the far too many mediocre Texans that Davie gives scholarships to. Rocky Long/Joe Morrison already did win with New Mexicans and Ray Birmingham continues to win. I will not attend any Lobos games in 2017 with the 16k or so fans that consider New Mexico football players 2nd class athletes.

PATRICIA M. You forgot to add to you list that Brady was accused of and found guilty of cheating in a court of law. How is that false heresy. Class acts don’t undermine the integrity of the game by cheating. — TJP
