-

Jessica Bracher age 48 passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on December 29, 2016. She was born in Santa Fe, New Mexico March 23, 1968 where she lived until she was four. When the family moved to Albuquerque, she discovered her passion for swimming eventually placing in two state tournaments while in high school. After graduating from Manzano High School in 1986, she enlisted in the Navy and was assigned to aviation. She especially enjoyed her deployments on aircraft carriers, one of which caught fire in the middle of the Pacific Ocean ( no one was hurt).

After being honorably discharged from the Navy, she lived in Fallon, Nevada where she started a long career in health care. In 2002 she relocated to Albuquerque and began working as a health care coordinator for Ardent and the ABQ Health Partners. The highlight not her job was her co-workers and the many patients she came to know and admire.

Jessica enjoyed the mountains and ocean, camping and fishing. She even applied her skills as part of a balloon crew during a few Balloon Fiestas. Her joy was her two daughters Amanda and Sabrina Bracher, and her three siblings Ellen, Matt, and Tom Scharf. She also loved animals particularly her cats Kitters and Libby.

She was preceded in death by her father Dr. Ted Scharf, her mother Barbara Banks Scharf. She is survived by her two daughters, her three siblings, her step mother Barbara Scharf, her grandmother Doris Harrison, her aunt and uncle Joyce and Frank McCallister and many other aunts and uncles and cousins. A private family service is planned for later this month. To send condolences view the Riverside Funeral website. In lieu of flowers send a donation to the local Animal Humane Association.
