South Carolina clamps down on No. 19 Florida in low-scoring affair

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Jordan Woodward’s return from a leg injury has infused some hope in Oklahoma’s season.

Woodard’s layup with 2.2 seconds left in overtime lifted the Sooners to an 89-87 victory over No. 7 West Virginia on Wednesday night.

Woodard scored 18 of his 20 points after halftime in his second start since missing four games.

After scoring 27 points in a win over Texas Tech on Saturday, Woodard made a jumper with 3.1 seconds left in regulation that tied it at 77-77, then made two baskets in the final minute of overtime.

Oklahoma (8-9, 2-4 Big 12) has won two straight for the first time since late November.

West Virginia (15-3, 4-2) lost for the first time at home this season, one week after blowing out then-top ranked Baylor in Morgantown. (10) FLORIDA STATE 83, (15)

NOTRE DAME 80: In Tallahasee, Fla., Jonathan Isaac scored 23 points, including 17 in the second half, and FSU (17-2, 5-1) moved into a three-way tie atop the Atlantic Coast Conference.

Isaac, who had 10 rebounds for his second straight doubledoub­le, scored nine of his points during an 11-1 run that helped the Seminoles take control. FSU trailed 64-62 with 5:40 remaining before Isaac buried a 3-pointer to start the run.

Steve Vasturia scored 18 points for the Fighting Irish (16-3, 5-1). (16) VIRGINIA 71, BOSTON COLLEGE 54: In Boston, Devon Hall scored 13 points and Isaiah Wilkins had 11 points and nine rebounds for Virginia.

None of the Cavaliers (143, 4-2 ACC) played more than 25 minutes as they rested up for next week’s games against Notre Dame and top-ranked Villanova.

The Gamecocks (15-3, 5-0 Southeaste­rn Conference) opened the second half with a 14-2 run and held on down the stretch after the Gators (15-4, 5-1) drew within 54-53. (20) CINCINNATI 81, TEMPLE 74: In Cincinnati, Kyle Washington scored 10 of his 16 points in the second half, rallying the Bearcats (16-2, 6-0 American Athletic) to their ninth straight.

NEVADA 83, AIR FORCE 76: In Reno, Nev., D.J. Fenner scored a career-high 30 points as Nevada held on against a late Air Force (9-10, 2-4) rally. Fenner was 11 of 18 from the floor for the Wolf Pack (16-3, 5-1), who have won four-straight. Marcus Marshall added 25 points and Cameron Oliver 10 WYOMING 80, SAN JOSE STATE 70: In San Jose, Calif., Jordan Naughton had 15 points, Louis Adams added 14 and Wyoming (13-6, 3-3) beat San Jose State (9-8, 2-4).
