Leupold, Arthur (Art) O.

Arthur (Art) O. Leupold, age 91, born in Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away early Saturday morning, February 11, 2017. Art is survived by his beloved wife and best friend, Betty. He is also survived by his daughters, Karla Young, Karol Winsor, and Karlene Phillips (Stephen) all of Albuquerque; nine grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Dorothy Spurrier, and many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Freida; brother, Ed; sister, Francis; and son, Karl.

Art loved working with his dad’s auto dealership where he worked half days his senior year at Belen Auto Co. For his love of cars, he still has the 1941 pick-up that he put the first miles on.

He moved to Albuquerque in 1963 and joined the Poco Quatros Model "A" Ford Club, where he restored many cars. Years later, he joined the V-8 Club. He worked as Fleet Manager at PNM until his retirement in 1986. He loved the Boy Scouts, his family, drinking coffee, and talking shop with his buddies. He was a proud Army Veteran and served in the Korean War. He enjoyed bowling (never had a 300 game) and travelled with his sweetie in their motorhome from coast to coast. He and Betty enjoyed taking many tours with the two car clubs. He will be greatly missed and forever loved.

Friends are welcome to gather for a Visitation on Thursday, February 16, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be Friday, February 17, 2017, 10:00 a.m., at FRENCH – University followed by Interment at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menual Blvd. NE.
