Kershaw wins 3rd as LA tops Rockies

Cubs rally past Brewers; Ichiro homers in Seattle

LOS ANGELES — Clayton Kershaw gave up two runs on five hits in seven innings in improving to 3-1 and helping the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Colorado Rockies 4-2 on Wednesday night.

Enrique Hernandez had an RBI-double to give LA a 2-1 lead in the fifth inning, followed by an RBI-single by Corey Seager.

CUBS 7, BREWERS 4: In Chicago, Addison Russell hit a three-run homer off Neftali Feliz that capped a four-run ninth inning and lifted Chicago over Milwaukee.

Chicago trailed 4-1 before Willson Contreras’ RBI single in the sixth off Carlos Torres, and Russell’s run-scoring single cut the deficit to one run in the eighth.

NATIONALS 14, BRAVES 4: In Atlanta, Bryce Harper had two homers, including a grand slam, among four hits as Washington overwhelme­d Julio Teheran and Atlanta.

Harper drove in five runs. His thirdinnin­g grand slam just cleared the reach of leaping Braves center fielder Ender Inciarte.

MARINERS 10, MARLINS 5: In Seattle, Miami’s Ichiro Suzuki, 43, hit his first home run on the road in nearly four

years, connecting off Evan Marshall in possibly his final at-bat at Safeco Field, where he anchored right field and the top of Seattle’s batting order for 11½ seasons.

For the Mariiners, rookie Mitch Haniger extended his hitting streak to 13 games with three hits and four RBIs as Seattle won for the fifth time in six games.

ROYALS 2, GIANTS 0: In Kansas City, Mo., Jason Vargas (3-0) scattered four hits over seven innings with nine strikeouts and no walks as KC beat San Francisco and Madison Bumgarner (0-3).

Joakim Soria pitched a perfect eighth in relief of Vargas, and Kelvin Herrera earned his third save.

YANKEES 9, WHITE SOX 1: In New York, Aaron Judge hit a 448-foot homer, Masahiro Tanaka (2-1) pitched seven innings of one-run ball and New York completed its first stretch at Yankee Stadium this season 8-1.

Judge followed Starlin Castro’s threerun shot in the fifth for the Yankees’ first back-to-back homers of the season.

BLUE JAYS 3, RED SOX 0: In Toronto, Francisco Liriano (1-1) allowed four hits in 5⅓ innings and combined with three relievers on a six-hitter.

Kevin Pillar had three hits for the second straight game and stole two bases for the Blue Jays.

ASTROS 5, ANGELS 1: In Houston, Dallas Keuchel threw seven solid innings and Josh Reddick finished a single shy of the cycle as Houston beat Los Angeles. Keuchel (3-0) allowed one run on eight hits with seven strikeouts.

ATHLETICS 9, RANGERS 1: In Oakland, Calif., Khris Davis hit his seventh home run of the season, and Yonder Alonso and Chad Pinder also went deep as Oakland routed Texas.

ORIOLES 2, REDS 0: In Cincinnati, Ubaldo Jimenez (1-0) held the Reds to a pair of singles in the second inning and four walks overall in 7⅔ innings to overcame a dominating performanc­e by rookie Amir Garrett (2-1), who struck out 12 in seven innings. METS 5, PHILLIES 4: In New York, Jay Bruce homered twice and drove in five runs, including a tie-breaking shot in the eighth, as New York ended its four-game losing streak with a win over Philadelph­ia. RAYS 8, TIGERS 7: In St. Petersburg, Fla., a throwing error by Jose Iglesias allowed two runs to score in the ninth inning as Tampa Bay rallied to beat Detroit. The Tigers shortstop stumbled while trying to turn what would have been a game-ending double play, instead his error cost Detroit the victory. PADRES 1, DIAMONDBAC­KS 0: In San Diego, Jhoulys Chacin pitched eight scoreless innings and Erick Aybar hit a homer to lift San Diego past Arizona.

CARDINALS 2, PIRATES 1: In St. Louis, Dexter Fowler hit his first two home runs for St. Louis, which swept Pittsburgh in a three-game series.
