Raymond Max

Hill, also known as "PopPop" , 72, passed away on Tuesday, April

18, 2017 in San Angelo, Texas.

He was born to the late, J. Howard and Margaret Ruth Hill on Tuesday, June 13, 1944 in Albuquerqu­e, New Mexico.

Max married the love of his life, Latricia Louise Newberry, on July 12, 1963 in Albuquerqu­e. Max was a member of the First Baptist Church, San Angelo where he served as a deacon and in various children and youth ministries. His strong faith and generosity made him an inspiratio­n to the countless people he touched during his lifetime. Max was well respected, strong willed and kind hearted. He enjoyed motor cross, spending time ranching, golfing and fishing. He was a member of the "Grumpy Old Men" group. His friendly nature and outgoing spirit will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife of almost 54 years, Latricia Hill; daughters, Lori Hill and companion, Garry Haruska, and Dana Stilwell and her husband, Donnie; grandchild­ren, Angela Weyer and companion, Jake Burgess, Alex Weyer, Andrew Weyer and wife Jorie , Riley Stilwell, Berkley Stilwell, and Jarrett Stilwell; great granddaugh­ter, Maxwell Alice Burgess; brothers and sisters-in-law, Wayne Hill and wife, Dona, Glenn Hill and wife, Charlene, Larry Hill, and Terry Hill and wife, Dawn; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at the Sunset Memorial Gardens in Albuquerqu­e, New Mexico. Friends and family are encouraged to share memories and photos as well as sign the online guestbook at www.johnsons-funeralhom­e.com. Arrangemen­ts are under the direction of Johnson’s Funeral Home, San Angelo.
