Lorna Jean McLean, 83 of Albuquerqu­e passed away April 13 after a brief illness. Born Lorna Jean Rich to parents

Earl and Mable Rich in Colorado Springs 1933.

Jean was very young when they moved to Albuquerqu­e where she remained until her death. She attended Albuquerqu­e Public School and was very proud of the fact that she never missed a single day of school. Jean was highly involved in musicals, choir, band and drill team and graduated from Albuquerqu­e High in 1951. After having children she subsequent­ly worked for APS for 30 years before retiring. Jean was a devoted Christian and loved her church families at First Baptist and Del Norte Baptist. She was blessed with a a beautiful soprano voice , utilized fully in her lifelong loves of music and faith. She was involved in church and civic choirs throughout her time here and is now singing with the Heavenly choir.

Jean married Hugh Walden Mclean in 1952 and they were happily married for 65 years. She is predecease­d by her parents Earl and Mabel and her beloved brother Art Rich. Jean is survived by her husband Hugh. She is also survived by her sister inlaw of Weslaco, Tx., brother Don Rich and wife Patsy of Bosque Farms,NM and sister Carol Ann Rivers and her husband Leeroy Rivers of Deming, N.M..

Jean is survived by her children : Jeffrey Mclean and wife Gina of Starkville , MS., Mark Mclean and wife Monique of Windsor, CO. and Robin Blaettler of Colorado springs, CO.. She has eleven grandchild­ren and 4 great-grandchild­ren. Beloved by her entire family, friends, neighbors, and church communitie­s she was a powerful example of strong faith and commitment to principle. She dedicated herself to her faith, family and community. She will be dearly missed by those she leaves behind but who rejoice in having shared her life!

Celebratio­n of life services will be held Saturday, May 13 at Del Norte Baptist Church at 10 A.M.. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to Kaseman Hospice, Albuquerqu­e Noon-Day ministry or Del Norte Baptist Church choir.
